I’d like to melt into the deep Earth

Let the damp soil roll over me until I turn to fern and seed

Until my arms have rotted and my lungs taken new form to breathe

I’d like to be a river rock, erosion taking my edges and leaving you breathless upon findng me

As if I were a gem worthy of the cerulean sea

I’d like to be scattered to the wind

The old me taking up weight in this body, suddenly drifting by like an old friend

Or a snake’s skin

No longer binding
